Renewable Power System

line

Fossil fuel such as oil, coal, natural gas and others are the limited natural resources on the planet and will be depleted sometime in the future. On the other hand, renewable energy such as sunshine, wind, water, tide, geothermal, biomass and others, are the none-depletable natural resources and are increasingly exploited in electricity generation over the world. NEWJEC has experienced in renewable power project such as photovoltaic (PV) power projects, wind power projects and micro-hydro power projects.

Especially, NEWJEC has wide range of experiences in PV power projects; Chaungther Village in Myammar (a hybrid system of PV and wind turbine), Bundung in Indonesia, Qinghai in China, Djibouti-ville in Djibouti (grid-interconnected power plants).

Location Map of Renewable Power Projects

The notable feature of Myammar system is that it is a hybrid system of PV power, wind power and diesel power. An ice-making freezer is also equipped to consume surplus electricity produced by the system. Since the main industry of Chaungther Village is fishery, there is a demand for ice cubes in large quantity to preserve their products fresh for long distance transportation to the market. In this way the project can provide support for local industry, as well as electric power, both of which contribute to agricultural and rural development of the village.

Bandung Project in Indonesia provides PV generated power to a factory. The control system was specially designed: when a momentary voltage drop or frequency change occurred in the utility network, it instantaneously isolates the essential load in the factory from the network and provides it with high-quality electricity, which enables the factory to operate without interruption. This control system was developed, demonstrated its performance was evaluated in the project. This system consists of PV power, batteries and the high-speed circuit breakers that disconnect essential loads from the utility network, and changes its mode to "the stand-alone operation" and provides electricity to the essential load.

With the project in Qinghai, China, the special feature is that the electricity generated by PV system (capacity 300kW) is fed to the 10kV utility network: this is the first grid-interconnected PV project in China approved by a public power company. Further, the PV system is equipped with electric double layer capacitors (ELDC), the first application of such scale in the world.
